It’s September Already!
Can you believe it’s September already? The days are flying by. It seems like just yesterday new school supplies started appearing on store shelves and today most students have been back in school for a few weeks! The new school year certainly does bring a lot of excitement. It’s no different at SySTEMic Innovations. Instead of stuffing new backpacks with freshly sharpened pencils, we spend the weeks leading up to the first day of school custom-packing science materials for our partner schools. Those early fall kits are delivered now and we are gearing up for the months ahead. In just a few weeks, SySTEMic Innovations will be celebrating its 5th Anniversary!
In the meantime, we are thrilled to welcome some new schools to our program. We are pleased to partner with University Academy in Kansas City and the Richmond R-XVI School District in Missouri to bring quality, hands-on science learning experiences to their students. We are also honored to continue our relationships with the Excelsior Springs 40 School District in Missouri and the Shawnee Heights USD 450 in Kansas this year. As excellent teaching and learning continues in these fine schools, it is truly a privilege to support their efforts through our program.
This month we are also celebrating the release of new curriculum materials from Delta Education. We are proud to have partnered with the Lawrence Hall of Science at UC Berkeley, developers of FOSS, to collaborate in course development for the newly released middle school Waves module published by Delta Education. The initial course was developed by our colleague Paul DeChant in direct response to the curriculum needs of Shawnee Heights Middle School. We are grateful to Kyle Kunard, Danielle Mott, and James Nelson, the teachers who piloted the curriculum.
We look forward to hearing your success stories in the year ahead!
