The development of productive partnerships with stakeholders interested in STEM education – schools, corporations, civic organizations, foundations, academic institutions and legislators – is key to developing a shared vision of effective STEM learning and teaching and an understanding of the system required to support this vision. SySTEMic Innovations provides an effective way for these stakeholders to collaborate and advance education to prepare the innovators of tomorrow.
Partnering for the Future
Initiated by Bayer Corporation in 2003, SySTEMic Innovations became a program of the Kansas City Area Life Sciences Institute in 2006 and a free-standing non-profit in 2011, made possible by seed funding from the Bayer Foundation. The program is financially supported solely by grants from corporations and foundations, and funds from district memberships.
